  • Will commercial air con installation impact my business trade?

Commercial air conditioning and ventilation can be complicated. Each job has its complexities – from building compliance issues to the size and requirements of the premises.

As Commercial premises can range in size, we leverage a wide array of technologically advanced systems designed to meet any challenge.  Our highly experienced staff will propose the right system and solutions for your needs.

Whether you are in the early stages of the build or you require install of an existing premise, we can install your air conditioning system with minimal disruption to those around you and minimal impact on your business.

  • Why should I get my air con serviced?

To protect your investment and ensure a smooth-running system, it’s essential to service your air conditioning system regularly.

The benefits of preventative maintenance are:

    • Improve the longevity of your system
    • Maintain energy efficiency and work more economically
    • Lower the risk of sudden breakdowns
    • Troubleshoot small issues before they become larger and more costly issues
    • Cool or heat more thoroughly to keep staff happier and more productive
  • What happens in a air conditioning maintenance check?

A regular maintenance for your commercial air conditioning system includes:

    • Check system functions, safety controls and adjust the operating sequence
    • Inspect electrical components and connections as well as repairing/replacing or tightening as required
    • Ensure proper airflow
    • Check all supply vents for adequate air circulation
    • Test heating elements to ensure all are working
    • Check refrigerant levels and report
    • Flush drains to prevent water leaks, ceiling damage etc.
    • Record ambient and room temperatures
    • Report on and quote to rectify any defects requiring attention
    • Inspect/Clean all filters (Washable)

Commercial air conditioning works harder and longer than residential air conditioning systems, so we recommend a consistent maintenance schedule every 3-6 months.  A regular schedule can minimise complaints across the workspace.

  • What will happen during the quoting process?

The fastest way to receive a quote will be if you can provide Arrow Air with a floor plan.  If you do not have a floor plan available to you, they can sometimes be found online if the home has been previously listed for sale.  For a standard home, we will be able to provide a quote from the floor plan. However if you would prefer us to visit your home and conduct a site analysis we can also do this.

For homes that may be more complex, such as architecturally designed homes that require a more bespoke design, we will require a site visit which we will arrange at a convenient time.

Quotes will be provided via email, and an Arrow Air team member will also follow up with a phone call to discuss your quote and talk through all the options.

  • How long does it take to receive a quote?

It will generally take between 1-3 business working days to receive a quote.

  • How long is a quote valid for?

The quote will be valid for 60 days unless connected to a promotion, in which case it will be valid for the term of the promotion.

  • How do I accept a quote?

Simply call or email us with your approval to proceed and we’ll book in a time with you for the install.

  • How often should I have my air conditioner serviced?

For residential units we recommend a service every 12 months. For commercial units that may be used more frequently and for longer period of time we recommend anywhere between every 3-6 months.

  • Can I request a time for the service?

We can offer first of the day appointments if they are available, otherwise we can only offer a 2-3 hour window on the day.  Our team will notify you prior to arriving at your place.

  • What temperature should I be setting my thermostat to?

It always depends on the weather at that time of year and the home layout, but as a general rule of thumb we recommend between 22-24 degrees during the winter and 20-22 degrees during summer.

  • My system doesn’t seem to be cooling/heating?

Turn the temperature either up or down to see if its starts. If it doesn’t please call us to book in a service to investigate.

  • I’m getting a flashing light on my thermostat and it doesn’t appear to be working?

This could be a number of issues. Please call our office to book in a service call to investigate.

  • My control panel isn’t turning on?

This may be because your circuit breaker has tripped. Please try resetting, and if there is still no lights on, please give us a call and we will book in a service call to investigate.

  • How do you diagnose a repair?

In many cases we can diagnose and problem solve over the phone. If that doesn’t work then we will be required to send a technician out to check the system and diagnose the problem.

  • How long does it normally take to repair and air conditioning unit?

This entirely depends on what’s involved and parts required. Our team will advise you on the timeline once diagnosed, and if there are any other requirements.

  • Do you provide installation on pre-bought air conditioners?

No, we do not install pre-bought units. We only supply and install.

  • How long does an air conditioning installation normally take?

The time entirely depends on the type of air conditioner being installed. A split system installation may only require half a day. A ducted air conditioning can take anywhere from 1-2 days.

  • What post install care do you provide?

We recommend a yearly service to keep your system working well and to gain maximum energy saving efficiency. We also recommend home owners regularly clean the air filters between annual maintenances as filters can very quickly build up with dust and other pollutants.

  • What areas in Sydney do you service?

We service most of Greater Sydney Area.  Our main areas are the Hills District, and the north western suburbs and the corridor into and including Sydney and Eastern suburbs.

  • What does the warranty look like?

    • Actron and Daikin condensors and evaporator have a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty.
    • Actron and Polyaire zone motors have a 5 year Parts Only warranty not including labour.
    • Ducting has a 10 year manufacturers warranty, against manufacturing defects and the breakdown of materials through natural ageing.
